RESOURCES

InstructionsIndigenous Health Determinants

Hello Students,

In this tutorial, we collaborate with Anna Har from Freedom Film Network, who has helped us curate two films produced by Malaysian film makers which align with the Learning Outcomes of our tutorials.

The Freedom Film Network (FFN) is a not-for-profit body established to support and develop social documentary filmmaking for impact in Malaysia. FFN organises regular capacity building programmes for filmmakers and CSOs and actively produces and uses films strategically for human rights awareness, advocacy and empowerment of marginalised communities such as the Indigenous people.

For more information on Freedom Film Network, visit https://freedomfilm.my/.

You have two tasks to complete before this week’s tutorial. Please read the instructions carefully and come fully prepared.

Today, we will be viewing the film, Abai, by the Malaysian film maker, Shafie Dris. We are grateful to Shafie for sharing his work with us as we continue on our journey to learn more about Indigenous health, especially the determinants of Indigenous health
